I have received one. Just hung up and blocked the number. Seems to be a big problem and huge fines have been given out.

Many originate outside the UK, use spoofing software to 'legitimise' the displayed number and, as such, are virtually impossible to police and fine .

I read actors record the calls in the UK and then set them up abroad. Some huge fines have been given out. I have also had the calls coming from a number begining 25 where it rings off before you can answer it, hoping you will ring back at an exspensive rate.

Huge fines? Not one has been paid AFAIK by the Indian operators.
They want our voice so they can get to our bank accounts, best to not reply to them as they want to record certain words.
