October 30, 2026
One of Chiswick’s most eagerly awaited festive traditions returns this December as St Michael’s Players present their annual pantomime — this year Ben Crocker’s Camelot, directed by Neil Dickins.
The production promises a riotous blend of Arthurian legend, slapstick comedy and classic panto chaos. At the heart of the story is the wicked Morgan le Fay, determined to destroy Camelot by forcing Guinevere into marriage with the ghastly Valerin the Vicious. Fortunately for the kingdom, she hasn’t counted on the heroic Connie Clatterbottom, the ever‑loyal Teddy the Bear, the irrepressible Laughalot the Jester and an increasingly youthful Merlin, whose magical mishaps add to the fun.
Audiences can expect all the hallmarks of a St Michael’s Players pantomime: big laughs, colourful characters, the Haunted Hotel in the Shrieking Bog, Morgan’s scheming Evil Sisterhood and a wonderful live band bringing the show to life. The group’s December pantos are known for selling out quickly, thanks to their mix of family‑friendly humour and inventive staging.
The group performed the same pantomime back in 2017 and it was exceptionally well received then.
Performances take place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December at 7.45pm, and again from Arthurian legend, slapstick comedy at 7.45pm, with a 4pm matinee on Saturday 12 December.
Tickets start from £8 and booking will be available early in November via the St Michael’s Players website: www.stmichaelsplayers.org.
